UCC Help
Uniform Construction Code
The YCBA is devoted to keeping members informed and current regarding
changes to the Uniform Construction Code (UCC). Since the adoption
of a state-wide building code, the way homes are designed, built,
and inspected has radically changed. The UCC Coalition was formed
to keep an open line of communication between our builder members
and municipal officials. The coalition offers information sharing,
troubleshooting, conflict resolution, and suggestions on how to
improve the process for the betterment of the home building industry.
The UCC Coalition meets on the second Thursday of even months at
8 a.m. Visit the Calendar
of Events for more details on upcoming meetings.
For more information on the state's building code, visit the Pennsylvania
Department of Labor and Industry.
The YCBA Experience Form is a tool for use by builders and municipal officials.
If you have an "experience" related to the UCC, whether good or
bad, simply complete the Experience
Form and submit it to the YCBA. The UCC committee will review
the submitted experience forms and take action if warranted.
The YCBA UCC Coalition has developed a Uniform Building/Zoning
Permit Application. This application was the product of UCC Coalition
meetings and was developed with input from municipal officials and
builders. The goal of the uniform application is to alleviate administrative
burden on the municipality and to provide builders a consistent,
easy-to-use form. We encourage all municipalities to review the
Uniform Building
Zoning Permit Application and consider adopting it.
